Personal Sewing Kit

Made in a pattern popular for decades and a favorite of AEF Doughboys, sewing kits like this were made at home by cost concious homemakers and, in the case of wartime, patriotic women and girls on the Home Front during the Great War. An essential item for in the pack or haversack at a time in History when a large portion of the USA were in financial distress and repairing clothing and gear was preferable to buying new.

Copied from a WW1 example in my collection, the set includes 5 safety pins for temporary repair, one of our sewing scissors, and two cards for your thread. You will need to provide your own thread to match your clothing and gear, as well as sewing pins and needles.
