Friction Fit Storage Containers

I discovered an illustration in Elon Jessup's "The Motor Camping Book" (Free download in out Free Stuff Section) showing a Friction Lid tin as recommended by Jessup, Kephart, and others. I bought a dozen for sale here. 

I've gone to the trouble of using food safe wax at the seams of the cans to make them better able to hold near liquid contents such as lard, jellies, etc., but where they excel is as airtight containers for coffee, tea, etc. Not recommended for hot contents or setting on a fire cue to the wax.
