Camp Coffee Bags
Camp Coffee Bags
Folks who watch my Channel know that I like to point out how the meaning of some words has changed over the past 100 years. Such is the case with this little "Kink" for Motor Camping (and trekking). In the '20s the word "kink" didn't have anything to do with shady internet video sites, it had the same meaning as the word "hack" does today.
The July 1926 issue of Outdoor Recreation featured a "kink" I've seen in other publications and is something I've used for Classic Camping for 10 years: pack your coffee in individual serving muslin bags and brew you coffee using those instead of making "cowboy coffee" and picking the grounds out from between your teeth all day long. This article calls for cold brewing your coffee overnight, I boil the bags in the coffee pot. They make for easy cleanup along with lighter and less bulky packing.
This package features six 4" x 6" muslin bags, more than enough to make coffee for two people for a weekend. Pair these up with one of our Friction Fit cans and you can keep your coffee fresh and ready to make. Wash them when you get home and reuse them hundreds of times.
